Abstract

This poster presentation will discuss the pros and cons of spaying or neutering household pets. Many animals are euthanized annually due to overpopulation issues, so pet owners have been urged to neuter/spay their household pets to limit overpopulation. Recent research suggests that early neutering may have negative consequences for companion animals. The goal of the presentation is to educate the public about the benefits and risks associated with pet reproductive procedures.
