Abstract

Mobility and wellness are popular fitness commodities; MovNat, an exercise training limited liability company (LLC), conducts workshops to encourage people to reconnect with nature through restoring well-being and mobility. Notedly, four hours of MovNat training improved working memory compared to a yoga intervention and a classroom group. This study will determine the effects of a weekend workshop of MovNat on functional activities, mindfulness, and working memory. It is hypothesized that a MovNat workshop will improve mindfulness, working memory, sit to rising score, as well as sit to stand and squat performance biomechanics. The pre-test post-test comparison group design includes attendees of a weekend MovNat workshop and members of the Daemen College community >18 years old without previous MovNat training; all participants will be free from current head cold or vestibular dysfunction. Data from mindfulness surveys, working memory test, and functional movements, will be analyzed per mixed model repeated measures ANOVA using SPSS.
